looks like she is the daughter of Shailendra K. Upadhaya
Hi all,
I am proud of my father Shailendra Kumary Upadhyay who is planning to climb Mt Everest in May. Since he is 80, this will place him into the Guinness World Records Book as the oldest person to climb the tallest mountain! That is amazing. Please help him reach the top with your donations.
After retiring from a career as a public servant, my papa has been working as peacekeeper representative from Nepal to the world and raising chickens and goats. He thinks of himself as a farmer and loves running around the hills and mountains thinking what to grow next in this land. While exploring hills and mountains of Nepal of captivating beauty, he cultivated an unusual interest for someone his age -- climbing mountains! For the last 6 months, he has been rigorously training in rock climbing, trekking, and last year (on 14-17 August, 2008) successfully completed a six day trek to Goshaikunda (5300 meters) followed by a 13 day trek to Manang Thorang pass Jomsom (21 Sept. to 3 Oct., 2008) and successfully climbed Island Peak over 6050 meters on 26 Dec., 2008.
He is 80 years old and has taken the challenge of climbing highest mountain in the world, Mt Everest to encourage persons of old age to think in a positive manner about old age and instill confidence in them to be able to serve the society even after retirement from official posts and other activities. He wishes to be the oldest person to climb Mt Everest and needs your support, help and love.
Climbing Mt Everest is not a joke. It’s the highest mountain in the world and not every one tastes the success. Putting the coincidences in mind personally, I would like him to give it up but he is determined and will not change his plan, as usual. I am nervously proud and excited to see his succession in his big dream project. I am trying to help him by being part of fundraising team and requesting all of my dear friends to help me by donating however much possible. Every dollar will add up! He needs to collect total of (US $ 50,000) to make this climb happen. Your donation will be returned if he doesn’t climb and fundraising efforts are underway.
